10 Years of Sowing a Sustainable Future
In the heart of the Colombian Pacific, in 2014, a dream was born: Ecopazífico .
A permaculture program that from its beginnings focused on beach cleanups and art with recycling, transforming La Barra Beach, an hour from Buenaventura, into a beacon of environmental awareness.
An inspiring journey that led us to Tierra Bomba:
In December of that same year, destiny guided us to the paradisiacal Tierra Bomba Island in the Colombian Caribbean. Hand in hand with Namasté Beach Club, then known as The Beach Hostel, we embarked on a path of collaboration with the Punta Arena community council, the Colombian National Navy, NGOs, private companies, and hundreds of volunteers and activist artists. All united by the same passion: the conservation of Colombia’s marine ecosystems. 🌊🌿
Ten Years of Transformation:
Today, in 2024, we proudly celebrate a decade of relentless work. Ten years in which conservation, community, and well-being have been the pillars of our mission. A journey full of learning, achievements, and, above all, a deep love for our planet.
Together, we have achieved:

We are committed to minimizing waste generation in the daily operation of our hotel and beach clubs. To achieve this, we implement various strategies, including the elimination of disposable items, the use of paper straws, and biodegradable paper bags. Similarly, we reuse materials from non-returnable items that are essential for the hotel’s operation, transforming them into decorative elements and art with a purpose to beautify our paradise. Additionally, we use organic waste to create compost that nourishes our plants and trees.
We also consider it essential to foster a green consciousness among our staff and visitors, which is why we maintain ongoing training and environmental awareness efforts. We actively participate in beach cleanup activities organized on the island.
We firmly believe in the possibility of building an environmentally responsible tourism model that is in harmony with its surroundings. 🌿✨
Part of our mission is to work hand in hand with the island community and grow together with it. Therefore, more than 80% of our staff are natives of the island who work in various areas thanks to a foundational training program that allows them to integrate effectively into tourism-related activities at our hotel. This program not only focuses on training but also creates a space built from love and example, equipping them with tools for both their professional and personal lives.
For this academic area, we establish alliances with SENA (National Learning Service) to train them in areas of interest such as cooking, customer service, table and bar service, bartending, and more. Additionally, we regularly hold meetings and team-building workshops to keep our team motivated and foster an environment of constant learning.
More than just a team, we are a family working together to showcase the best face of this beautiful island, which was once in a state of complete neglect but has now, through love and effort, opened up to Colombia and the world. 🌿✨
